The 31 Things I'm Bringing into Age 32

Picture
These are some of the things that I've learned through life so far.  Some of these things were taught to me through experience, some through divine inspiration and channeling and others through the amazing teachers that the universe has sent me.

Every single experience and person teaches us something and each of us holds wisdom - knowledge tempered with experience.  Sometimes it takes a little while to put things into practice but over time we do.  I hope some of these things are helpful to others too:

  1. Amazing moments don’t last forever – and that’s okay.
  2. Not everyone will like you but those who do will always truly have your back.
  3. People cannot dim your light.  The brighter you shine the harder they will try.
  4. Laugh fully, love fully, cry fully.
  5. Calling in sick when you truly need a recovery day is completely okay (even if others don’t think so).  Your mental health is worth more than your paycheck.
  6. If you’re consistently not appreciated in a relationship then it’s time to leave.
  7. It’s better to be alone while single than alone in a relationship.
  8. Continually set goals and work towards them and celebrate every small achievement along the way.
  9. Don’t be afraid to look in the mirror with honesty and with love.  Understanding one’s own self is the most viable foundation for life.
  10. Acceptance goes further than tolerance could ever conceive.
  11. Don’t apologize for your downfalls unless you hurt someone with them.
  12. Base decisions on what is and not what could be.
  13. Realize that not all seeds that you water will grow.
  14. Understand that you are capable of anything and everything – both good and bad.
  15. Laughing at your self is so important.
  16. Know your strengths and limitations before walking into any situation.
  17. The universe is constantly conspiring to help you.  Our part is to allow it to do so.
  18. Express yourself fully and others will benefit.
  19. Work to know yourself well and stand behind your integrity – own it.
  20. Hugging can fix almost anything when it’s done from the heart.
  21. Tell people how much you love them.
  22. Choose your battles, words and actions as wisely as possible.
  23. Be patient and compassionate with yourself.
  24. Random acts of kindness fill everyone’s heart.
  25. Deep breathing techniques.
  26. Forgiveness is about the self.
  27. Everyone in every second has the ability to choose differently if they wish.
  28. God loves all of us so completely, without judgement and with deep understanding.
  29. Time is fantastic healer (even though it feels like it takes forever).
  30. Family, friends and loved ones are a high priority.  With these things you have everything.
  31. Sometimes the hardest thing to do and the best thing to do are the same thing – The “deep breath and go!” approach tends to work if you can change your perspective long enough to take the first step.
